The New York Giants have signed backup quarterback Jameis Winston to a new two-year contract, the team announced Saturday. The deal is reportedly worth $13 million and keeps Winston in his role as the primary backup to starting quarterback Jaxson Dart for the next two seasons.

Winston, an 11-year NFL veteran, joined the Giants last year. He quickly established himself as a key presence in the locker room due to his experience and leadership. During the 2025 season, Winston saw playing time after Dart suffered a concussion and then-backup Russell Wilson faced performance issues. Winston started three games before Dart's return.

Winston's performance and presence during training camp apparently impressed new head coach John Harbaugh enough to warrant the contract extension.

The Giants are set to begin their 2026 season against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, September 13.
