The New York Giants may be without running back Cam Skattebo when they return from their bye week, as he began practice with a trainer on the sideline. Skattebo sustained a hamstring injury during the Giants' overtime victory against the Houston Texans.

Head coach John Harbaugh stated that the availability of injured players will likely be a day-to-day decision leading up to Sunday's game. The Giants' running back situation is already precarious with Tyrone Tracy Jr. sidelined for the next four games due to a hamstring injury.

This leaves Devin Singletary and Gregory Desrosiers, who was recently signed from the Chargers' practice squad, as the only healthy running backs on the 53-man roster. The team has also re-signed 2023 draft pick Eric Gray to the practice squad.

Meanwhile, offensive tackle Andrew Thomas, who has been managing a groin injury, expressed optimism that the bye week provided sufficient recovery time. He hopes to be ready for the upcoming game against the Eagles and the subsequent "Thursday Night Football" matchup against the Commanders.

Linebacker Abdul Carter did not practice due to an illness. Defensive lineman Josh Tupou was released to make room for Gray on the roster after appearing in one game.

Harbaugh also noted he spent part of his Sunday watching other NFL games, including the Dallas game, likening the experience to that of a fan enjoying the league's offerings.
