San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle has weighed in on the ongoing contract dispute between the team and wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, asserting that the organization has handled the situation appropriately.

In an appearance on Chris Simms’ Unbottoned podcast, Kittle stated that he has knowledge of the situation and believes the 49ers, head coach Kyle Shanahan, and general manager John Lynch have made significant efforts to reach a resolution. "I feel like the 49ers have done a very good job throughout the entire process and have tried. Kyle has tried, John has tried, teammates have tried, and this is where we are," Kittle said. He added, "I think the organization itself has done a really good job."

Kittle, who has been with the 49ers for 10 years, emphasized his personal experience with the team. "I don’t want to single out a player. I don’t want ever want to point a finger at anybody, but I’ve been here for 10 years and I’ve been treated with nothing but respect and love my entire career," he stated.

The standoff between Aiyuk and the 49ers has been a prominent issue, with the wide receiver reportedly refusing to work with the team and expressing a desire to be reunited with his former Arizona State quarterback Jayden Daniels, now with the Washington Commanders. Aiyuk has also alleged that the 49ers have misled him regarding the situation and has indicated he will not seek reinstatement, which could allow the team to place him on the "Left Squad List." In this scenario, Aiyuk would remain on the roster but would not count against the team's space and would not receive pay.

Adding to the speculation, Aiyuk recently purchased a home in Northern Virginia, near the Commanders' headquarters. The situation has led to discussions about whether Aiyuk is jeopardizing his NFL career. Despite Aiyuk's absence, the 49ers' roster remains strong, featuring talents such as veteran wide receiver Mike Evans, and established players like Kittle and Christian McCaffrey, positioning the team for a potentially explosive offense.
