Retired Canadian tennis player Eugenie Bouchard described her recent experience in the exclusive Royal Box at Wimbledon 2026 as "perfect." The invitation-only seating area at Centre Court is typically reserved for members of the British Royal Family, government officials, tennis champions, and celebrities.
Bouchard, 32, who retired from professional tennis in July 2026, shared her behind-the-scenes perspective of the VIP experience. "What an honour to be invited to the Royal Box," she wrote. "Every time I played on this court I always looked up to see who was there. Never thought I would sit in the box myself one day."
Bouchard reached the Wimbledon singles final in 2014 at the age of 20 and achieved a career-high world ranking of No. 5. She added that the company, the tea break, and the tennis itself contributed to the flawless experience. She also thanked Deborah Jevans, the Chair of the All England Club, for the invitation.
In addition to her appearance in the Royal Box, Bouchard was also present at the tournament working as a commentator for BBC Sport. "First time back since I was a player!" she remarked on her Instagram Story. "Amazing new facilities @wimbledon."
