The summer transfer window is officially open, with clubs across Europe looking to finalize deals before its September 1 deadline. Fulham has completed the permanent signing of forward Jonah Kusi-Asare from Bayern Munich for an estimated fee of £6 million.
Kusi-Asare, 18, initially joined Fulham on loan last summer for £2.7 million and made seven Premier League appearances. He expressed his happiness with the permanent move, stating he felt like part of the "Fulham family" from his first week.
Fulham vice-chairman Tony Khan welcomed the signing, citing Kusi-Asare's "massive potential and a bright future." The club is also reportedly interested in Manuel Angel, who captains Real Madrid Castilla. The 22-year-old midfielder is also a target for Deportivo Alaves and is said to be open to a move to Fulham should former coach Alvaro Arbeloa be confirmed as their new manager.
Meanwhile, Leeds United is actively negotiating with Southampton to find a compromise on a transfer fee for defender Shea Charles. Leeds has reportedly had two offers exceeding £20 million rejected, while Southampton is holding out for £30 million for the 22-year-old.
Charles, an international for Northern Ireland, has also attracted interest from Atalanta and Everton, and was previously on Manchester United's radar. Leeds has also agreed on a contract with free agent Harry Wilson and is interested in signing Julian Brandt from Borussia Dortmund. Additionally, Leeds has inquired about Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki and held discussions with Borussia Monchengladbach regarding defender Nico Elvedi.
Elsewhere in the transfer market, Brighton & Hove Albion has entered into talks with Atalanta for 18-year-old defender Honest Ahanor. Ahanor, who has represented Italy twice, can play as a center-back or left-back and only recently became eligible for Italy upon turning 18. Rangers are also reportedly in discussions with Atalanta for a loan deal involving defender Ben Godfrey, who moved to the Italian club from Everton in 2024.
Hull City is in discussions to sign 34-year-old Belgian international Thomas Meunier, who is available on a free transfer from Lille. Meunier, a former player for Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund, will turn 35 in September. Hull City has also registered interest in 18-year-old Gremio wing prospect Gabriel Mec.
Chelsea has shown interest in Sunderland midfielder Granit Xhaka. However, Sunderland has stated that there have been no club-to-club discussions and that the player is not for sale.
