Two former members of the New York Mets' starting rotation, Freddy Peralta and David Peterson, have experienced significant turnarounds in their pitching performances after being traded. Both pitchers began the season as part of the Mets' rotation but struggled before being moved to new clubs.
Peralta, now with the Tampa Bay Rays, made a strong start against his former team on Tuesday, allowing just one earned run over six innings to secure a victory. This outing continued a positive trend for the right-hander, who has posted a 3.03 earned run average (ERA) over his last five starts. This follows a 4.99 ERA in 22 starts for the Mets prior to his trade on August 3.
David Peterson's resurgence with the Chicago Cubs has also drawn attention. The left-handed pitcher had a 6.09 ERA in 16 appearances for the Mets this season. Since joining the Cubs, Peterson entered Wednesday with a 3.90 ERA in 11 appearances, as he was scheduled to start against the Milwaukee Brewers.
