The football community is mourning the loss of legendary player and manager Kevin Keegan, who died at the age of 75 following a short illness. His family announced his passing, stating he had been battling cancer and was surrounded by loved ones.

Keegan was diagnosed with stage four stomach cancer in January. His family released a statement expressing their sadness and gratitude to his medical team, requesting privacy during this difficult time.

Keegan enjoyed a distinguished career, representing clubs such as Scunthorpe, Liverpool, Hamburg, and Southampton. He also had multiple spells managing Newcastle United, as well as managing Fulham, the England national team, and Manchester City. He was a two-time Ballon d'Or winner.

Figures from across the sport have paid tribute to Keegan. Jamie Carragher, a former Liverpool player, hailed Keegan as "one of the greatest players this country has ever produced." Carragher also noted Keegan's significant impact on Liverpool Football Club, stating he was "one of the most important men in making @LFC what it is today."
