Spanish actress Ester Expósito, girlfriend of French soccer star Kylian Mbappé, celebrated her home country's FIFA World Cup victory. Spain secured the World Cup title after defeating Argentina in the final match on Sunday.
Expósito shared her excitement via an Instagram story, posting a screenshot of what appeared to be a FaceTime call with friends shortly after the match concluded. The image showed the group celebrating, with Expósito smiling broadly. She captioned the post with a simple red heart emoji, conveying her happiness.
This win held personal significance for Expósito, whose home country triumphed. Earlier in the tournament, she faced a dilemma when France, Mbappé's team, played against Spain in the World Cup Semifinal. At the time, she described the choice as "difficult" and expressed indecision about which team to support.
Spain's 2-0 victory over France in that semifinal match set them up to face Argentina in the final. With her national team reaching the ultimate stage, Expósito was able to openly support Spain without conflicting allegiances.
Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappé's focus may have been on his individual performance in the tournament. He finished with 10 goals, securing the Golden Boot award. This came as his team, France, experienced a loss in the final. Mbappé had previously played with Lionel Messi, a key figure for Argentina, at Paris Saint-Germain.
