Formula One driver Esteban Ocon has been removed from the Haas team for the remainder of the 2026 season, with Rafael Camara set to take his place starting with the Sao Paulo Grand Prix. Ocon's departure, which was already scheduled for the end of the season, has now been brought forward.

Haas released a statement confirming the decision, stating that "Such decisions are never made lightly, as was the case in Mexico City – but then, as now, we feel this is firmly in the best interest of the team moving forward." Team principal Ayao Komatsu declined to comment further on the specifics, calling the situation an "internal matter."

Ocon's mid-season exit follows reports of a dispute with team bosses. While Ocon publicly denied allegations of a physical altercation, he acknowledged a disagreement with team personnel. The French driver wrote on X that "A difference in viewpoints led to a discussion with the parties involved," but "categorically reject any reports or allegations suggesting that any form of physical violence was used." He added that he "strongly condemn[s] violence in all its forms" and asked for speculation to be avoided.

Camara, the current F2 leader and a member of the Ferrari academy, will partner Ollie Bearman for the final four races of the year. Ocon was initially replaced by reserve driver Ryo Hirakawa for the Mexico Grand Prix before this latest decision to remove him for the rest of the season.
