England's World Cup last-16 match against Mexico in Mexico City has been postponed by one hour due to severe weather conditions. The game is now scheduled to commence at 02:00 BST, which is 19:00 local time.

Heavy rainfall and reports of lightning above the Azteca Stadium, the venue for the match, prompted the delay. FIFA regulations stipulate that play cannot resume until 30 minutes have passed since the last detection of lightning within an eight-mile radius of the stadium.

Discussions were held between FIFA and the English and Mexican football associations on Friday. Initially, a proposal was made to move the match to Sunday at 19:00 BST (12:00 local time), but this decision was later reversed, with the kick-off time remaining unchanged.

The match will be broadcast live on BBC One, BBC iPlayer, BBC Radio 5 Live, and the BBC Sport website and app.
