Jordan Henderson and Jarell Quansah will be the only players unavailable for England in their World Cup semi-final match against Argentina. Henderson is recovering from surgery on a broken arm sustained during the win over Mexico in the round of 16. Quansah is suspended after receiving a red card in the same match.

This leaves head coach Thomas Tuchel with a full squad to choose from as he finalizes his starting lineup. Tuchel has not fielded the same starting back four in consecutive World Cup games, but he was reportedly impressed with the quartet of Ezri Konsa, John Stones, Marc Guehi, and Nico O'Reilly, who all started in the quarter-final victory against Norway.

Declan Rice experienced a disrupted preparation for the Norway game due to illness, but there is optimism that his condition has improved sufficiently for him to play on Wednesday. Rice trained fully on Tuesday and is expected to be in the starting lineup in Atlanta.
