Kobbie Mainoo is in contention for his first start at the World Cup as midfielder Declan Rice faces a fitness assessment ahead of England's final group match. Rice was seen with heavy strapping on his left calf after England's goalless draw with Ghana.

While the issue is not believed to be serious, Rice was limping and will be evaluated by medical staff. England manager Thomas Tuchel has been preparing for the possibility of Rice needing to be rested, reportedly using Mainoo alongside Elliot Anderson in midfield during training sessions prior to the Ghana match.

Reece James is also being monitored for a potential hamstring injury, though he completed the game against Ghana after receiving lengthy treatment for a head injury in the first half. James has recently returned from a hamstring issue, and his workload requires management. Elliot Anderson is also under observation after appearing to take a blow to his back during the match.

England is scheduled to play Panama in their final group game, a match they are expected to win.
