England gymnast Gabriel Langton has been discharged from hospital following a head injury sustained during the Commonwealth Games high bar final. The 19-year-old fell during his routine, landing headfirst on the mat and causing a 30-minute stoppage in competition.

Langton was taken to a Glasgow hospital for precautionary checks and underwent multiple scans. Team England released a statement confirming the positive results and his imminent discharge. "Thankfully, he has been cleared of any serious injury complications and will be discharged to return to the team hotel this evening," the statement read. Langton is reportedly in good spirits and grateful for the medical care and support he received.

The incident occurred when Langton fell from a height of 8.5 feet. He was stretchered from the Glasgow International Arena wearing a neck brace.

Following the disruption, gymnasts were permitted another warm-up before the competition resumed. Teammate Luke Whitehouse, who was scheduled to compete after Langton's fall, described the situation as "really tough" but praised the team's ability to reset and focus. "The togetherness of the team really showed, and I couldn't be prouder of everyone," Whitehouse said.

Despite the distressing scene, Alexander Yolshin-Cash and Adam Tobin delivered strong performances to secure a silver medal for England. They were beaten to the gold medal by Canada, with Australia taking bronze. This marked the first time since the 2010 Delhi Games that England had not won the gold medal in the event.

Langton was absent from the medal ceremony as he continued to receive medical attention. Teammates Joshua Nathan, Adam Tobin, and Luke Whitehouse accepted their silver medals, with Nathan acknowledging the emotional rollercoaster of the day and the team's solidarity. Tobin echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the importance of pulling together and focusing on their performance.
