Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Blake Snell was seen in attendance during the U.S. Men's National Team's 3-2 loss to Turkey on Thursday night at Los Angeles Stadium. Snell, accompanied by his wife Haeley Snell, was featured on the scoreboard during an intermission, reacting to the game.
Snell was one of several local athletes present at the match. Dodgers teammate Tyler Glasnow, Los Angeles Angels shortstop Zach Neto, former Super Bowl champion and NFL MVP Matt Stafford, and Puka Nacua were also reportedly in the crowd.
Snell is currently in his second season with the Dodgers. He signed a five-year, $182 million contract with the team before the 2025 season. Last year, he played a significant role in the Dodgers' back-to-back World Series championships, posting a 3.18 ERA and holding opponents to a .183 batting average across six postseason appearances.
This season has been challenging for Snell, who began on the injured list with left shoulder fatigue sustained during the playoffs. He returned to the team on May 9 but was immediately placed back on the injured list after undergoing surgery for loose bodies in his elbow. Initially expected to miss two to three months, Snell recently underwent a new surgical procedure aimed at expediting his return. He is scheduled to throw a limited bullpen session of 15 pitches on Friday as he works towards rejoining the Dodgers.
