Six-time NBA All-Star DeMar DeRozan is set to sign with the Denver Nuggets, according to reports. The veteran wing agreed to a one-year deal worth $3.9 million, joining a Nuggets team aiming for another championship run.

DeRozan, 37, was waived by the Sacramento Kings last month. In the past season with the Kings, he averaged 18.4 points and 49.7 percent shooting across 74 games. His arrival in Denver follows a multi-team deal that sent restricted free agent Peyton Watson to the Cavaliers.

Sources indicate DeRozan has been in communication with Nuggets players Nikola Jokic, Aaron Gordon, and Jamal Murray. He expressed eagerness to join a contending team and pursue the championship that has eluded him in his 17-year NBA career. DeRozan has reached the conference finals once, with the Toronto Raptors in 2016, and has made limited postseason appearances since leaving Toronto after the 2017-18 season.

With 26,711 career points, DeRozan ranks 16th on the NBA's all-time scoring list. A strong performance in the upcoming season could see him climb into the top 10 by 2026-27.

The Nuggets, who posted a 54-28 record last season, have aimed to retool their supporting cast around Jokic. Their goal is to return to championship contention after falling in the first round of the playoffs last season to the Timberwolves in six games. The team's last NBA title came in 2023, and they have not advanced past the conference semifinals since then.
