Stephen Curry erupted for 25 points in the second half, propelling the Golden State Warriors to a 116-113 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Monday night. The win marked the Warriors' fifth consecutive triumph.
Golden State trailed by as many as 17 points and didn't take the lead until the fourth quarter. The momentum shifted significantly after Draymond Green was ejected two minutes into the second half, with the Warriors rallying from a 68-57 deficit to tie the score at 73.
Curry, who scored nine points in the first half, found his rhythm after the break, finishing with 34 points. His scoring streak of at least 20 points in every game this season now stands at six, averaging 30.0 points per contest.
Center Charles Bassey provided a crucial boost in the second half, filling in for Green and scoring a career-high 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting. He contributed significantly to the Warriors' offense, including a basket that gave them their first lead of the game early in the fourth quarter.
Brandin Podziemski also played a key role, adding 20 points, with 14 coming in the second half. He tied the game at 93 late in the third quarter.
The Warriors' comeback was fueled by a second-half surge from beyond the arc. After a slow start, they made 11 of their final 25 three-point attempts, including five by Curry.
For the Suns, Devin Booker led the scoring with 26 points, and Mikal Bridges added 21. Yaxel Lendeborg, who had scored 37 points in their previous matchup without Curry, was limited to 16 points on 3-of-10 shooting.
The Warriors have now won five straight games since their loss to the Suns in Phoenix last Saturday.
