Spain defender Marc Cucurella has made a bold promise to get a tattoo of coach Luis de la Fuente's face on his body should the team win the FIFA World Cup. Cucurella revealed this commitment during an appearance on the show “Partidazo,” where he was questioned by host Juanma Castaño.
Cucurella, who admitted hesitation before making the declaration, described the potential tattoo as a "good memory." The 27-year-old has been a key player for Spain during the tournament, appearing in seven matches and providing two assists. He is part of a Spanish squad that is one victory away from claiming their first World Cup title since 2010.
Luis de la Fuente has managed Spain since 2022 and has already led the team to a UEFA Champions League title in 2024, earning him a contract extension through Euro 2028. A World Cup victory would further cement his legacy with the national team.
The potential World Cup win also means another Spanish player, young star Lamine Yamal, faces a promise fulfillment. Yamal, an ambassador for Beats by Dre headphones, stated he would raffle off 100 pairs if Spain wins the tournament. Yamal, 19, has been a standout performer, appearing in 11 matches, scoring one goal, and contributing three assists.
Cucurella acknowledged the significant challenge Spain faces in the final against Argentina, led by soccer legend Lionel Messi. The final is scheduled to take place on Sunday in New Jersey.
