Como playmaker Nico Paz paid tribute to Tenerife striker Jesus de Miguel, who died on Tuesday, during his side's Champions League match against Lens. Paz scored Como's third goal in their 9-1 win and celebrated by holding aloft a shirt bearing a picture of De Miguel and the words "Rest in peace."
De Miguel passed away less than 24 hours after a collision with Andorra goalkeeper Jesus Owono during a Spanish second division game. The striker sustained severe head and chest injuries, which led to cardiac arrest. Paz, though playing for Argentina, was born in Tenerife and wanted to honor his hometown club.
