The Washington Commanders ended their winless streak and sent the Philadelphia Eagles to a sixth consecutive loss with a decisive 27-10 victory on Sunday night. Quarterback Jayden Daniels led the charge, throwing for 217 yards and one touchdown, as Washington's defense stifled the Eagles for the final three quarters.

Washington (2-4-1) secured their first win in over a month, while the Eagles dropped to 2-6. Daniels earned his first start since October 5, 2025, and his first win as a starter in the current season. The Commanders' defense proved relentless, sacking Eagles quarterback Tanner McKee five times and intercepting him once, limiting Philadelphia to 268 total yards.

Mckee, starting in place of the injured Jalen Hurts, completed passes for 212 yards but failed to throw a touchdown. Saquon Barkley managed only 30 rushing yards on 13 carries, and the Eagles' ground game contributed just 91 yards.

Costly penalties plagued both teams. In the fourth quarter, Eagles kicker Jake Elliott had a field goal attempt to narrow the score to three points negated by an illegal formation penalty, and he subsequently missed from 41 yards. Washington's Drew Stevens was more successful, kicking four field goals, including a 56-yarder late in the first quarter. Daniels connected with Stefon Diggs for an 8-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter, tying the game at 10-10, and Washington held a 13-10 lead at halftime.

The Commanders began the game with several mistakes, including a missed 55-yard field goal attempt by Stevens and a fumble by Chig Okonkwo. Philadelphia took an early 10-0 lead in the first quarter with a 3-yard touchdown run from Barkley.

Despite a hard hit that briefly left Daniels shaken late in the first half, he remained in the game as the Commanders rallied to score 27 unanswered points. The victory keeps Washington in contention in the NFC East, trailing the New York Giants by two games, despite an early-season record of 1-5.
