Clayton Kershaw, the recently retired Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher, was seen at the Los Angeles Rams training camp on Wednesday, visiting with longtime friend and Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford.
Kershaw attended the practice with his sons, and the group posed for a photo with Stafford. Kershaw and Stafford have maintained a close friendship since their childhood in Dallas, Texas, where they grew up playing sports together and attended Highland Park High School. Both athletes were high draft picks in their respective professional leagues; Kershaw was selected seventh overall in the 2006 MLB Draft, while Stafford was the first overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft.
Their careers later brought them together in Los Angeles. Stafford joined the Rams in 2021, and since then, he has attended several Dodgers games, including Kershaw's final regular-season start at Dodger Stadium in 2025. Kershaw retired from baseball last season after 18 seasons, concluding his career with the Dodgers securing back-to-back World Series titles. During his tenure, Kershaw amassed numerous accolades, including three Cy Young awards, an MVP award, five ERA titles, and over 3,000 strikeouts.
Stafford is preparing for his 18th NFL season with the Rams, who are considered Super Bowl contenders, especially with the addition of player Myles Garrett to the roster.
