A Chicago hot dog stand known for its provocative advertising has targeted the Los Angeles Dodgers following the team's recent three-game sweep at the hands of the Cubs. The Wieners Circle displayed a sign that read, "Swept those mothertuckers back to La La Land," after the Cubs defeated the Dodgers 7-6 on Wednesday, completing the series sweep.
The restaurant also took to social media, using its Instagram account to further mock the Dodgers. In a post, The Wieners Circle referenced the Dodgers' acquisition of outfielder Kyle Tucker to a four-year, $240 million deal in the offseason, calling him a "replacement level player."
Tucker, who played for the Cubs during the 2025 season, earned his fourth consecutive All-Star selection while with the Chicago team. He batted .266 with 22 home runs and 73 RBIs in 136 games for the Cubs but also dealt with multiple injuries. Many Cubs fans reportedly felt disappointed by Tucker's decision to sign with the Dodgers in free agency last winter, and his visit to Wrigley Field this week seemed to reignite those sentiments.
The Dodgers have struggled recently, losing eight of their last 10 games and suffering consecutive sweeps in their last two series against the Cubs and the Boston Red Sox. Despite the team's slump, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts expressed confidence that the core group of players would reset and find a way to win.
"There’s certainly no panic," Roberts told reporters. "We’ve been through a lot of these things, this core group of guys. I think that you just got to kind of reset, flush it, find a way to win a game, and not let it just compound."
