Channel Nine sports reporter Danika Mason announced live on air that she is expecting a baby girl with her fiancé, former NRL player Liam Knight. Mason shared the news on the morning program "Today" on Wednesday, revealing the due date is in December.

Mason and Knight confirmed their relationship in July 2024, several months after Mason ended her engagement to Todd Liubinskas. The couple announced their engagement in October of the same year, with Knight proposing during a trip to Sardinia, Italy. Mason had previously told viewers that her engagement ring was initially placed on her middle finger because it was too large and she feared losing it.

Knight, who had agreed to terms with English team Hull FC in March, and Mason began a long-distance relationship that has involved frequent international travel. Mason's colleagues on "Today" presented her with a cake to celebrate the announcement. The couple's relationship began after Mason ended her previous engagement in September 2023, three weeks before a planned wedding. Reports indicated the separation was due to a "breakdown in trust."
