Carlos Alcaraz is preparing for his return to professional tennis with a new hairstyle and a championship title to defend. The 23-year-old Spaniard has been sidelined since April due to a wrist injury that forced him to miss the French Open and Wimbledon.
Alcaraz revealed his altered look in a July social media post, featuring braids and longer hair than his typically short style. The post also included images of him celebrating Spain's World Cup victory. He had expressed disappointment about missing Wimbledon, stating he was not ready to compete despite his recovery progressing well.
His absence from the grass-court season allowed rival Jannik Sinner to claim the Wimbledon title. Alcaraz is scheduled to make his comeback at the Cincinnati Open, which begins on August 8. Following that, he will aim to defend his US Open crown, with the tournament commencing on August 23. Last year, Alcaraz defeated Sinner in the US Open final, continuing their developing rivalry.
