The Arizona Cardinals' offensive line depth has been dealt a significant blow with the injury to second-round pick Chase Bisontis. The rookie suffered a left knee injury during the third quarter of the Cardinals’ 27-14 preseason victory over the Raiders on Thursday.
Bisontis was helped off the field by trainers and later carted to the locker room. Head coach Mike LaFleur addressed the severity of the injury post-game, stating, “We’ve got to run some more tests, but I’d say not good right now.”
Bisontis, selected No. 34 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft, had a notable collegiate career at Texas A&M, where he was an All-SEC player and did not allow a sack during the 2025 season. He was a highly sought-after recruit, holding offers from numerous college programs before committing to the Aggies.
As a rookie, Bisontis was competing for the starting right guard position against third-year player Isaiah Adams. His injury places his rookie season in jeopardy and impacts the team's long-term offensive line plans. The Cardinals' offensive line was already ranked No. 22 in the NFL by Pro Football Focus, although Bisontis was not initially projected as a starter in their rankings.
Arizona is preparing for the upcoming season with Jacoby Brissett as their starting quarterback. The team is scheduled to open the regular season on September 13 in Los Angeles against the Chargers.
