Ismael Kone, a Canadian World Cup player, celebrated his team's significant victory with his teammates just 10 days after sustaining a severe leg injury that required surgery. Kone, a midfielder, was seen dancing in the locker room without crutches, a sight that surprised fans considering the severity of his injury.

The injury occurred during a match against Qatar, when Assim Madibo tackled Kone from behind, resulting in a broken tibia and fibula. Reports described the injury as so severe that one of the coaching staff yelled, "His leg is hanging off." Madibo received a straight red card for the tackle and a subsequent five-match ban, and later apologized to Kone.

Despite the prognosis that Kone would miss the remainder of the World Cup, he hobbled onto the field to join his team's celebrations after they secured a Round of 16 spot by defeating South Africa. His appearance in the locker room, dancing without aid, drew shocked reactions on social media, with users expressing disbelief at his rapid mobility.

Kone himself later posted on Instagram expressing gratitude for the support he received, stating, "You can´t even imagine how grateful I am to everyone who reached out and that has me in their prayers."
