Caitlin Clark explained that her loyalty lies with the Kansas City Chiefs' signature red jerseys, joking that she wants to avoid upsetting Travis Kelce and Chiefs fans. Clark made the comments on the "Not Gonna Lie" podcast, hosted by Kylie Kelce, wife of NFL player Travis Kelce.
Clark recounted attending an Indianapolis Colts game last season and receiving a custom jersey. "Honestly, in real time I wasn’t thinking I’m not gonna put this on because I don’t want, like, the Chiefs fans mad or Travis mad or whatever, but after the fact, I didn’t realize that all my teammates had it on, so that made me look worse," Clark said. She added that she still has the jersey and finds it "cool."
Clark, who plays for the Indiana Fever, has been frequently seen at Chiefs games alongside Taylor Swift. She also noted her respect for the Colts organization and the Irsay daughters who lead it. Despite the jersey incident, Clark expressed admiration for their leadership.
Kylie Kelce shared that she has also faced criticism for not wearing red when attending Chiefs games with her husband. Clark's connection to the Kelce family also includes Travis and Jason Kelce's mother, Donna Kelce, who has worn Clark's jersey.
