Bryson DeChambeau is set to return to the DP World Tour, with plans to play in the Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa in early December. The announcement comes as the future of LIV Golf, DeChambeau's current tour, faces uncertainty.

DeChambeau, a two-time major champion, confirmed his participation in the event hosted by Gary Player at his namesake country club. This marks DeChambeau's first appearance on the DP World Tour since 2022. Gary Player expressed his delight at welcoming DeChambeau back, citing the South African crowds' appreciation for his play earlier in the year.

The move to the DP World Tour occurs as DeChambeau's contract with LIV Golf is nearing its end at the conclusion of the 2026 season. LIV Golf has been seeking a significant cash infusion, reportedly over $250 million, to continue operations beyond 2026. LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil indicated that the league has secured a new lead investor.

DeChambeau has spoken positively about LIV's potential new investor, BC Partners, and his management company, GSE. He suggested that the investor brings a "new and fresh vision" that will lead to "the right" changes for the product, without altering it drastically.

Earlier in August, LIV Golf announced the cancellation of its team championship event, which had been scheduled for late August in Michigan. This cancellation followed reports that the tour's substantial funding from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) had ceased. The news of DeChambeau's DP World Tour return also comes shortly before reports surfaced suggesting Jon Rahm might return to the PGA Tour from LIV Golf.
