Brie Bella was hospitalized following a shoulder injury sustained during a match at WWE SummerSlam 2026. The 42-year-old professional wrestler teamed with her twin sister, Nikki Bella, and Paige for a six-person tag team match against Fatal Influence on Saturday. The Bella twins and Paige lost the match, and Brie was later seen holding her right shoulder.
WWE Chief Content Officer Paul 'Triple H' Levesque confirmed Brie was taken to the hospital for evaluation. "I know [she] hurt her shoulder. Seems pretty bad, but I don't have that answer yet," Levesque stated during a press conference. "Hopefully, we will soon and hopefully it won't be as bad as we thought it was, but that's the nature of the game."
The injury occurred approximately one year after Nikki Bella revealed she had suffered a serious breast implant injury. Brie had spoken about her participation in the event prior to the match, telling Us Weekly on Friday that she was approaching the run with the mindset that it could be her last. "This run has been unlike any run we've both have ever done," she said. "I feel so comfortable, and... when you're so comfortable, and I'm looking at this as, 'I'm not gonna lie to myself. I'm not in denial. This is my last run.'"
Bella expressed a desire to enjoy the moments and have fun, acknowledging the possibility of it being her final wrestling engagement. She anticipated a challenging match against Fatal Influence, a stable comprising Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, and Lainey Reid. Brie noted the trio's drive and capability, observing that they reminded her and Nikki of their younger selves. Nikki Bella added that she saw "young Bellas" in the opposing team, praising their strength, personality, and determination to make a name for themselves.
