Bobby Miller, once a highly touted pitching prospect for the Los Angeles Dodgers, has been added to the team's major league roster, manager Dave Roberts announced Saturday. Miller is returning from the injured list, where he has been sidelined for the entire season with a shoulder injury. This marks his first time on the active roster since May of last year.

Three years ago, Miller experienced a breakout rookie season, posting an 11-4 record with a 3.76 ERA in 22 starts, including a playoff appearance. Heading into the 2024 season, he was expected to be a significant contributor to the Dodgers' rotation. However, a shoulder injury that began after a strong debut outing in 2023 has significantly hampered his career. He recorded an 8.52 ERA in 13 appearances that season and followed it with a 7.00 ERA over five innings in two outings last season, much of which he spent in Triple-A.

Miller's recovery was further complicated by a back issue early this year. He began a minor league rehabilitation assignment with the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate in Oklahoma City approximately one month ago. During his rehab, he pitched 14 innings over seven appearances, striking out 17 batters and posting a 3.86 ERA. Midway through last season in the minors, Miller was transitioned to a relief role.

He will now provide the Dodgers with an additional arm in the bullpen as the team prepares to begin a three-game series against the Washington Nationals at Dodger Stadium. Pitcher Kyle Hurt was moved off the active roster as the corresponding move for Miller's activation.
