A Major League Soccer match between Minnesota United and the San Jose Earthquakes was briefly interrupted Sunday when a baby entered the field of play. The incident occurred in the closing moments of Minnesota United's 5-1 win.

Officials and security spotted the infant on the field and quickly intervened. The child was seen being picked up by security personnel and subsequently returned to their family members, who were waiting on the sidelines.

The unexpected event drew commentary from the broadcast booth, with Apple TV analyst Kyndra de St. Aubin audibly expressing surprise, stating, "Oh! There's a baby on the field." She later compared the occurrence to a previous animal intrusion, remarking, "That is way better than the raccoon!"

The game itself concluded with Minnesota United securing a decisive 5-1 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes.

This incident followed a similar interruption in May 2024, when a raccoon ran onto the field during a match between the Philadelphia Union and NYCFC at Subaru Park. That game experienced a five-minute delay as stadium staff attempted to capture the animal, which had been humorously described by MLS Season Pass broadcaster Callum Williams as moving well in center midfield. The raccoon eventually evaded capture attempts before being cornered and secured, to the crowd's amusement.
