Australian goalkeeper Patrick Beach has signed a five-year contract with French club Estac Troyes, keeping him with the Ligue One team until 2031. The 22-year-old’s move to the recently promoted club follows a breakout performance for the Socceroos in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he recorded two clean sheets and became a key player in the team’s run to the Round of 32.

Beach joins Estac Troyes, a member of the City Football Group which also owns Manchester City, after a successful three-year tenure at Melbourne City. During his time in Australia’s A-League, he made 64 appearances and won the 2024/25 league title.

His transfer to France will see him compete in one of Europe’s top leagues, facing clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain and RC Lens. Beach is expected to line up against prominent international players, including Ousmane Dembélé, the reigning Ballon d’Or winner, as well as Désiré Doué and Vitinha.

Beach’s World Cup heroics also garnered significant attention back home, with St Kilda Beach temporarily renamed ‘Patrick Beach’ in his honor. The transfer news comes as Spain celebrates its victory in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, having defeated Lionel Messi's side in the final.
