Football Australia is investigating allegations of match-fixing and illegal betting involving players registered with The Cove FC during the 2026 season.
The club, based in Adelaide, has stated that it is not under investigation and that the allegations concern only a "very small number of individuals" associated with the club.
According to reports, the probe centers on competition manipulation and players gambling on their own matches. Football Australia has confirmed the investigation is ongoing but declined to comment further while its integrity unit handles the matter. No individuals or specific games have been identified publicly.
The Cove FC chairman, Phil Hole, affirmed the club's commitment to sporting integrity and stated that the club has cooperated fully with Football Australia since being made aware of the allegations. Football SA has also confirmed its cooperation with the national body, noting that Football Australia holds exclusive jurisdiction over such investigations.
Founded in 1983, The Cove FC has over 800 members and fields senior, junior, women's, amateur, masters, and inclusive football teams. The club remains focused on its members and community while the investigation proceeds.
