The Australian women's cricket team is reportedly in turmoil following allegations of an affair between player Ashleigh Gardner and her teammate Georgia Voll. The claims were made public by Monica Wright, Gardner's ex-wife, on social media.

Wright posted a photo of Voll on Instagram with the caption, "This is who my wife cheated on me with," adding that she would "tell you exactly what happened" regarding the couple's breakup. She further alleged that the affair took place during the Women's World Cup in India last year.

A source told The Daily Telegraph that the team's ability to win the World Cup despite these circumstances is "a story in itself."

Cricket Australia has not officially commented on the allegations, although senior officials are reportedly aware of them. Gardner and Wright have reportedly removed wedding and engagement photos from their social media accounts and are no longer living together. According to a source speaking to The Daily Mail, Wright found her and Gardner's property empty of Gardner's belongings, except for the wedding rings, which were left in a cupboard.

Gardner, 29, has been a prominent player for the Australian team across all formats since her debut in 2017. She is currently the vice-captain and was part of the team that secured a record seventh T20 World Cup title this month. Gardner and Voll have been contacted for comment.
