Atletico Madrid has forcefully rejected any possibility of selling forward Julian Alvarez to Barcelona, labeling the ongoing transfer speculation as damaging to the club. Officials stated there is a "zero per cent chance" of a deal with Barcelona.

According to Spanish outlet Marca, Atletico expressed their "fury" over the situation, asserting that the club, not the player, is the "only victim" of the transfer saga. They claim the narrative has "harmed us economically and socially" and is built on "lies and half-truths."

Alvarez, a 26-year-old Argentine international, has been the subject of transfer speculation throughout the summer, with Arsenal and Real Madrid also reportedly linked with a move. Barcelona's interest is believed to be the strongest, and Alvarez has reportedly indicated a desire to join the Catalan club.

Following the intensified speculation, Alvarez was reportedly booed by supporters during and after Atletico's recent 2-2 draw with Villarreal. He subsequently missed a training session on Wednesday, citing illness.

Atletico Madrid's stance appears to be a firm assertion of their dignity and a rejection of what they perceive as an unfair portrayal of the situation, emphasizing that the club is bearing the brunt of the fallout from the transfer saga.
