Oakland Athletics rookie infielder Joshua Kuroda-Grauer sustained a ruptured testicle after fouling a pitch into his groin during a game against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday. The injury occurred in the third inning, shortly after Kuroda-Grauer hit his first career home run in the second inning.
Despite the impact, Kuroda-Grauer managed to hit a single into center field during the same at-bat. He was later placed on the injured list by the Athletics on Tuesday.
While the severity of the injury is significant, the team anticipates Kuroda-Grauer's return to action in approximately two weeks.
