Houston Astros outfielder Taylor Trammell experienced a moment of premature celebration when he rounded the bases after what he believed was a home run, only to learn the ball had been caught at the wall.

The incident occurred in the seventh inning of Monday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays at Daikin Park.

Trammell connected with a fastball and sent it toward the deepest part of the ballpark. He proceeded to touch first, second, and third base, and crossed home plate, anticipating congratulations from his teammates. However, upon reaching the dugout, he realized his teammates were not celebrating because the ball had been caught by a fielder at the warning track.

This sequence marked a particularly jarring turn of events for Trammell, who has hit only 24 home runs in his seven-year MLB career. The outfielder had put his head down and run hard after making contact, adhering to a less demonstrative approach to hitting.

Despite the earlier miscue, Trammell redeemed himself the following night by hitting a three-run home run that did clear the fence.
