Anthony Joshua is set to step back into the spotlight for his comeback fight in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, facing Albanian boxer Kristian Prenga. The 36-year-old expressed a relaxed demeanor when speaking with reporters, even encouraging a contingent of Albanian fans to bring their "energy" to support his opponent.
This bout marks Joshua's first fight since a car crash in Nigeria last December resulted in the deaths of two close friends and team members, Sina Ghami and Latif 'Latz' Ayodele. Joshua stated that he has been "working hard since January, keeping my head down and aligning all my stars" in preparation.
"I'm fully focused," Joshua said at the news conference in Jeddah. "I understand there's a big picture. The goal is to conquer the universe, right? But first we must conquer Earth. And this is my target here."
A victory for Joshua would position him for a potential all-British heavyweight showdown with Tyson Fury, provided Fury wins his own upcoming fight against Mariusz Wach.
