Andy Green is in his second week as the New York Mets' interim manager, a role he assumed after the team fired Carlos Mendoza. Green, who previously served as vice president for player development, acknowledged the challenges of stepping into the dugout but expressed appreciation for the opportunity.
During Green's first week, the Mets lost four of their six games, continuing a downward trend that indicates the team will likely be sellers at the upcoming Aug. 3 trade deadline. Green noted that acclimating to a new clubhouse environment takes time.
"I think it’s fair to say it takes a while to get to know everybody in a clubhouse and to acclimate," Green said prior to the Mets beginning a four-game series against the Braves at Truist Park.
