San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall has generated concern among the team and fans after appearing in a workout video wearing a brace on his right knee, the same one that caused him to miss games last season. The video, posted to Pearsall's Instagram Story, shows him engaged in training activities in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Despite the visible brace, Pearsall appeared agile in the footage, demonstrating explosiveness in and out of routes and making sharp cuts on the injured knee. Last season, a PCL injury to his right knee limited him to nine appearances for the 49ers. In an interview during that season, Pearsall indicated that his knee would require extended rest during the offseason to fully heal.

This situation is particularly significant as Pearsall is entering what is considered a crucial year in his development. His NFL career has been hampered by injuries since being drafted. In addition to knee issues, he has also dealt with hamstring problems and sustained a chest wound during his rookie season.

Pearsall was selected by the 49ers with the 31st overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, following a strong collegiate career at Florida where he recorded 965 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Across his 20 NFL games played so far, he has accumulated 928 receiving yards, averaging 13.9 yards per catch, with three touchdown receptions.

As the 49ers' training camp approaches, the team anticipates Pearsall will be a key contributor, likely filling the slot receiver position alongside newly acquired outside receiver Mike Evans. His ability to overcome his injury history will be closely watched as the team aims for success in the upcoming season.
