Roxane Isal, who was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer that had metastasized to her liver, is now in remission and cancer-free, more than two years after her diagnosis. Initially told she had only months to live, Isal's treatment has yielded a life-saving outcome.
Isal’s diagnosis came at a time when she was most concerned about her young children, who were nine and six years old at the time. The survival rate for stage 4 pancreatic cancer is grim, with half of those diagnosed dying within three months of their diagnosis. Isal is now cancer-free.
Professor Naureen Starling, the NHS consultant medical oncologist who treated Isal, has noted advancements in treatment for pancreatic cancer. Isal resides in west London with her husband Steve and their children.
