Dr. Ash Kapoor, a pioneer in regenerative medicine and founder of the Levitas Clinic, asserts that a 90-day program can reset the body to a youthful state, potentially adding decades to an individual's lifespan. Kapoor, who is nearing 60, believes it is realistic to live to 123 with full independence and purpose.
Kapoor's approach focuses on eliminating inflammation, which he identifies as the root cause of all diseases. "Genes are not your destiny," he stated, suggesting that individuals can alter their health outcomes. His program aims to detoxify the body, repair cellular damage, and reset biological functions, drawing parallels to a natural, unburdened state.
This method contrasts with extreme longevity pursuits, such as those of tech entrepreneur Bryan Johnson, who spends millions annually on a strict regimen, or the organ transplant discussions between world leaders. Kapoor's Levitas program, while including advanced treatments, is presented as a more accessible alternative.
The Levitas Program
The initial step for new patients involves a comprehensive consultation, which includes a body composition analysis to measure fat, muscle, and sugar levels, with a particular focus on ketone count. Ketones indicate the body's ability to metabolize fat for energy through a process called autophagy, which is central to reducing inflammation and disease risk.
One patient, journalist Donal MacIntyre, reportedly lost over three stone and saw improvements in his health, including normalized blood pressure and no longer being pre-diabetic, after a 23-day fast under Kapoor's supervision.
The Levitas program involves several stages. It begins with a herbal detox, followed by liver detoxification, a short water-only fast, and then a period of consuming one small meal per day. The rebuilding phase incorporates peptides, which are amino acids beneficial for various bodily functions, and encourages practices like breathwork and ice baths.
Treatments offered at the clinic can include light therapy, shockwave therapy, facial massage, body balance sessions in a compression suit, and specialized dental cleaning to combat periodontal gum disease, which has been linked to Alzheimer's. Hair rejuvenation treatments, using serums injected into follicles, are also offered, with Kapoor suggesting hair loss signifies the body's decline.
Kapoor, a former NHS GP, was motivated to explore alternative health methods after experiencing dissatisfaction with prescribing drugs for chronic illnesses. He founded the Levitas Clinic ten years ago after extensive study in epigenetics, peptides, and regenerative medicine.
Addressing Decline
Beyond general health, Kapoor's clinic also offers treatments for age-related decline in sexual function. These involve drawing blood, centrifuging it to extract growth factors, and injecting them to stimulate cell growth and improve function.
Kapoor emphasizes that many of his patients, including high-net-worth individuals and those experiencing burnout or a loss of vitality, are not necessarily overweight. He has also treated younger individuals dealing with depletion due to stress and anxiety, as well as elderly patients who remain highly active. The clinic's approach aims to shift individuals from a materialistic focus to a more community-oriented mindset, releasing them from ego-driven concerns. Patients often report feeling addicted to the positive well-being achieved through the program, leading to sustained behavioral changes.
