Television presenter Josie Gibson has publicly shared her journey after undergoing liposuction and a brachioplasty, also known as an arm lift, to manage lipoedema. Gibson, 41, recently appeared on the ITV show This Morning showcasing her transformed figure in a yellow lace dress, drawing attention to the results of her recent procedures.

Gibson revealed she spent approximately £7,000 on liposuction as a first step in her transformation following her diagnosis. She later underwent brachioplasty surgery, where she stated 45% of her arm was removed. This procedure aims to remove excess skin and fat from the upper arm.

Lipoedema is described as a chronic disorder characterized by the abnormal buildup of adipose tissue, primarily affecting the legs, hips, buttocks, and sometimes the arms. It affects both sides of the body equally and is more common in women, distinct from obesity, as diet and exercise typically have limited impact.

Gibson had previously expressed frustration with her condition, noting that she struggled to reduce the "lumps and excess weight" in her body despite working out. She felt her condition was "holding her back" and has since embraced a focus on wellness and increased physical activity. Her regimen includes using a treadmill, performing home circuits, and taking collagen supplements and electrolytes. She has also explored lymphatic drainage and understanding the lymphatic system.

To aid her recovery and overall wellness, Gibson has also incorporated NAD+ and glutathione injectables for anti-aging benefits, and has utilized a rented hyperbaric chamber for three months to increase blood oxygen levels and promote healing. She has also constructed a copper pyramid triangle, tools often associated with meditation and energy healing.

Gibson shared that she underwent the brachioplasty surgery in March and reported feeling "really good" just a week after having approximately 45% of her arm removed. She clarified that the surgery was to address lipoedema affecting her arms. She explained that while there was no pain, the recovery period initially limited her mobility, impacting her usual busy schedule. Despite the temporary disruption, she expressed gratitude for having undergone the procedure, stating, "I'm so glad I've had it done."
