Janice Dean, a familiar face on Fox News for over two decades, announced Thursday she is leaving the network due to health issues. Dean, who has served as the meteorologist for "Fox & Friends" for 22 years, stated that the progression of her multiple sclerosis has made it impossible to maintain the demanding schedule required for her role.

In a video message shared on X, Dean explained that while she has managed her condition for years, the increasing symptoms have necessitated her departure. "Getting up at 2:30 in the morning" has become particularly challenging for someone with multiple sclerosis, she noted.

"Ultimately, my symptoms progressed to the point that I can no longer continue working in my role, and my doctors agreed that stepping away was necessary for my health," Dean said. She added that she was diagnosed early and has undergone various therapies for over two decades, but acknowledged that there is no cure for MS and her symptoms have worsened over time.

Dean described her farewell as a "mostly sunny goodbye," expressing optimism for the future. "For every goodbye, there's always the next hello," she stated.

The New York Post has sought comment from Fox News regarding Dean's departure. Dean first joined the network in 2004.
