A recreational e-scooter ride seven years ago has had a devastating and lasting impact on Wendy Joss, leading to cognitive difficulties that have significantly altered her life.

While on a family trip to Brussels, Joss decided to try an e-scooter, a decision she now deeply regrets. Although she did not sustain severe physical injuries at the time of the fall, the incident triggered a cascade of neurological problems.

Months after the ride, Joss began experiencing significant cognitive decline. She found herself unable to recognize her own daughter and was forced to leave her job due to her impaired mental faculties. The most distressing aspect for Joss has been that the extent of her brain damage was not evident on medical scans, making diagnosis and treatment challenging.
