Zendaya is planning a break from Hollywood after a demanding year that included completing five film projects and marrying actor Tom Holland. The 29-year-old actress, whose latest release is Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey," stated her intention to "disappear for a little bit" following this period of intense professional activity.

Her recent work has kept her highly visible. In addition to "The Odyssey," she promoted "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" and reprised her role as Rue in HBO's "Euphoria." Her other credited projects include "The Drama" alongside Robert Pattinson and "Dune: Part Three." Furthermore, Zendaya is set to voice a character in "Shrek 5," scheduled for release in June 2027.

Speaking at the New York premiere of "The Odyssey," Zendaya described her current state as a "whirlwind." She told Entertainment Tonight, "This is such a whirlwind, and you’re kind of like in a new place every second, and your brain is kind of all over the place. It’s fun and I’m grateful, and I wouldn’t change a thing, but sometimes you need to just, you know, disappear for a little bit."

During promotional events for "The Odyssey," Zendaya shared a personal story about how Holland informed her of her casting in the Christopher Nolan film. Both actors are part of the ensemble cast, which also features Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, and Robert Pattinson. Holland was initially informed about his role as Telemachus and had already met with Nolan. Recalling the moment on "The Tonight Show," Zendaya explained that after Holland received the news, she was excited for him. She admitted to peeking at the script, noting, "there's a Christopher Nolan script in my house." When Holland returned from a subsequent meeting, he asked her to reread the script, this time with the character Athena in mind, revealing her own casting.

"The Odyssey," an adaptation of Homer's epic poem, chronicles the perilous journey of a Greek king returning home after the Trojan War. The film, with an estimated budget of $250 million, has been the subject of a recent promotional world tour by its cast.
