Zach Bryan and Gavin Adcock nearly came to blows at the Born & Raised Festival in Oklahoma after videos surfaced showing Bryan climbing a chain-link fence and confronting Adcock, who later criticized Bryan on social media.
In footage shared online, Bryan is seen yelling from behind a fence, slamming his hands against it and saying, "You want to fight like a man? Open the gate." A second video shows Bryan climbing over the fence and entering the venue before security personnel intervened. Both artists were on the festival bill along with Parker McCollum and Cody Jinks.
Adcock addressed the incident in an Instagram video posted Sunday with the caption "Rotten fruit falls on its own." "Well, like I already said, I don't think Zach Bryan's a very good person," he said, adding that Bryan "wasn't locked out of the festival" and "had been there all day with his multiple security guards." Adcock described seeing Bryan approach other artists and their guests, flip them off and issue "just d----ebag stuff."
Adcock said Bryan had the opportunity to enter through the gate earlier in the day but waited about an hour before Adcock's set to confront him. "No artist that cares about their fans is going to fight right before their set, missing going on and disappointing fans that spent way too much money to be there," Adcock said. He told followers he had "no single reason to fight" and that, after receiving what he described as threats from Bryan, he intentionally "stirred him up to the point where he jumped over the fence."
Adcock said he declined to engage in a physical altercation because it would have meant "going to jail, missing my set, and falling into a Zach Bryan lawsuit," and accused Bryan of using money to manipulate people. He concluded the Instagram statement by saying, "I didn't take the Zach Bryan bait, and I'll be praying for him to get better because he sure needs it."
Representatives for Bryan did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The clash followed an earlier exchange in which a teenage fan said on TikTok that Bryan had "completely blew everyone off" after waiting hours for an autograph. Bryan reportedly replied in a now-deleted comment, "You’re not entitled after someone plays two and a half hours to a picture or a hello. GOMD [Get off my d---]." Adcock publicly responded on X, questioning why people idolize a performer who cannot handle criticism from a 14-year-old and defending the fan's feelings.
Both artists have large followings within country music, and the incident drew attention on social platforms as fans and fellow musicians reacted to the video clips and social-media posts. The sequence of events — the fence confrontation, Adcock's Instagram address, and the prior fan interaction — has not been independently verified beyond the posted footage and statements. No arrests or official statements from festival organizers were reported at the time of Adcock's post.
