The Zac Brown Band surprised more than 37,000 fans at its Fenway Park concert by awarding each attendee a free cruise for two. Lead singer Zac Brown announced the promotion, valued at an estimated $40 million, during the show, calling it "the biggest giveaway in history."
The giveaway coincided with the band's 15th sold-out performance at the historic Boston venue, where they hold the record for the most consecutive sellouts. Fans were instructed to text "SameBoatBoston" to a designated number before Sunday night to claim their complimentary voyage.
The country star collaborated with Margaritaville at Sea, the lead sponsor of his "Love & Fear Tour," for the promotion. Christopher Ivy, CEO of Margaritaville at Sea, expressed honor in assisting with the surprise, stating it was an "extraordinary way to thank the fans who have supported him throughout his career."
Concert attendees shared their astonishment and excitement. "I didn’t believe it. It didn’t seem real. It was just amazing. I’m still speechless," said Nathan Whitcomb, who attended with his girlfriend and parents. Others, like Jeff Miner, simply expressed their eagerness, stating, "Super excited, looking forward to it."
The free cruises are valid for select sailings in 2027. The partnership also ties into the Margaritaville at Sea Beachcomber liner, set to launch in January 2027, which features a live music room named "Same Boat," inspired by Brown's life on the road and passion for the sea.
The "Love & Fear" tour continues with upcoming dates in Pittsburgh, Columbus, Columbia, and multiple shows in Queens, New York, with support from singer-songwriter Grace Potter. The tour is scheduled to conclude on November 21 in Rosemont, Illinois. Zac Brown Band is also slated to perform in Nassau, The Bahamas, in January for a three-ship event hosted by Margaritaville at Sea.
