The Wu-Tang Clan will headline the Detroit Lions’ Thanksgiving Day halftime show on November 26, performing during the team's game against the Chicago Bears at Ford Field. The announcement was made by the Lions on Sunday.
“Our Thanksgiving Day Classic is one of the greatest traditions in sports, and Wu-Tang Clan is one of the greatest performers in music,” said Detroit Lions president and CEO Rich Haddad. “We are thrilled to have Wu-Tang headlining our Thanksgiving halftime show and grateful to Marshall and Paul for their partnership.”
Eminem and his manager, Paul Rosenberg, selected the hip-hop collective as part of their multiyear collaboration with the Lions to executive produce the team’s Thanksgiving halftime performances.
The performance comes during a notable year for the New York City-based group, which was selected for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's 2026 class. The induction ceremony is scheduled for November 14 in Los Angeles.
Earlier in 2026, Wu-Tang Clan performed at halftime during the Knicks' Game 4 comeback in the NBA Finals. Method Man also performed during the Knicks' home opener in October. The group concluded its global farewell tour, "Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber," in October.
Formed in the early 1990s, Wu-Tang Clan is credited with transforming hip-hop with its 1993 debut album, "Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)," which is widely regarded as one of the genre's most influential releases. The album featured hits such as "C.R.E.A.M." and "Protect Ya Neck."
Their 1997 follow-up, "Wu-Tang Forever," debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and received a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album. The group has released eight studio albums, with several members also achieving solo success and releasing critically acclaimed albums like Raekwon's "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…," GZA's "Liquid Swords," Method Man's "Tical," and Ghostface Killah's "Ironman."
