Paulo Gabriel da Silva Barros and Katyucia Lie Hoshino, officially recognized as the world's shortest married couple, are offering a glimpse into their uniquely adapted home in Itapeva, Brazil. The couple, who both have dwarfism, stand a combined 71.42 inches tall. Their home, featured on TLC's new series "Most Extreme Humans," has been extensively renovated to suit their scale.

The renovations touch nearly every aspect of their living space. Door handles, light switches, countertops, and storage units have all been lowered for easier access. The kitchen, in particular, underwent a significant transformation. Towering cupboards were replaced with pull-out drawers and open shelves, eliminating the need for step stools. A custom shallow sink and a lowered stovetop allow Barros and Hoshino to cook together comfortably without straining.

"Now comes the coolest part of the kitchen, the sink," Barros said on the show, expressing pride in a fixture that allows him to do dishes without difficulty. Additional thoughtful touches include lightweight plastic step stools for reaching occasional higher shelves, a lowered laundry sink, and custom office furniture built to their precise dimensions.

Hoshino described their home as a "safe haven," emphasizing the contrast between their living space and the outside world. "When we left our home, we had to adjust to the world to fit in," she explained. "In our house, especially in the kitchen and bathroom, it was the opposite. It was the people who had to adapt to us."

The couple’s love story has captivated fans for over a decade, from their rocky start online, when Hoshino blocked Barros’s messages, to their 2016 London wedding after eight years together.

The couple's relationship has garnered attention for over a decade. They first connected online, where Hoshino initially blocked Barros's messages before reconnecting years later. They married in London in 2016 after eight years together. Shortly after their wedding, Guinness World Records officially certified them as the shortest married couple, succeeding fellow Brazilians Douglas Maistre Breger da Silva and Claudia Pereira Rocha for the title.
