A San Diego woman's search for love led her to an unexpected source: an Etsy seller offering psychic "soulmate drawings." Ashley Watson purchased a drawing and reading from a seller named Lucrezia at the suggestion of a friend, a concept she had seen on TikTok. The service aims to provide a visual representation of one's destined partner.
Watson received the drawing and a detailed reading, which predicted her soulmate would enter her life within 90 days. A week later, she met Carson Ballou. While Watson was initially struck by Ballou's appearance rather than any psychic connection, the similarities between him and the drawing became apparent later.
"In all honesty, when I saw him, I didn’t even think about the psychic thing. I was just like, ‘That’s a hot man,'" Watson told People. The couple had a strong initial connection, with an undeniable chemistry. The resemblance to the soulmate drawing was only pointed out to Watson by her cousin after she shared photos of Ballou.
Lucrezia, who is based in Florence, Italy, describes herself on Etsy as a clairvoyant empath who has been practicing for over a decade. Her soulmate drawings are priced at $22.49, and the listing indicated nearly 500 purchases in the 24 hours prior to the report. Lucrezia also offers other services, including future-baby drawings and tarot readings.
Watson and Ballou recently became engaged in southern France. Ballou described Watson as "an angel who deserves the world" and planned the proposal during a summer trip. Watson expressed that it still feels surreal to be engaged to someone who so closely matched a psychic prediction.
"The fact that this ended up becoming part of my story was absolutely not on my bingo card, but I am SO glad it did," Watson said. She encourages others to remain open to magical possibilities in finding love, noting that the circumstances of her meeting Ballou still surprise her. She added that a significant portion of individuals in relationships, about one in five Americans, do not consider their current partner to be their soulmate.
